Terry Yung: Standing up for Vancouver-Yaletown

Terry Yung is a veteran of the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) and a community leader. As a police officer, he protected people, whether it was walking the beat in the Downtown Eastside, working as a Financial Crime Detective, or tackling hate crime. As the longest-serving Board Chair of SUCCESS, he helped to grow the number of affordable housing units at the organization to 1,000.

Elected as the MLA for Vancouver-Yaletown in 2024, Terry brought a focus on public safety, security and inclusion to public office. In government, he served as the Minister of State for Community Safety and Integrated services, where he worked to protect people by strengthening support for police and tackling repeat offending, retail theft and street disorder.

He also worked closely with residents, businesses and organizations across Vancouver-Yaletown to make sure their voices were heard.
